the girl's tears glistened on her cheeks. her dress was torn, her fact covered in mud, her heels split in half.
but the gownfairies, the gownfairies appear, apparitions to mend the tears in her satin stitches, to seam the broken glass heels that seem to shine in the moonlight, and to wipe the tears and dirt from her face. after they are finished, they disappear into the night again, only to return in her time of trial.
